MR. SON LE ACCEPTS THE LICENSE FOR ADOPTIONS INTERNATIONAL, INC. FROM DR. LONG, DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL ADOPTIONS (DIA) IN HANOI.

On June 21, 2005 the United States and Vietnam signed the long awaited Adoption Agreement. The signing of the Adoption agreement opens the door for the agencies wishing to place children from Vietnam to apply for the license. Adoptions International Inc was licensed on March 31, 2006.  We are one of only 14 U.S. agencies legally allowed to perform adoptions in Vietnam. 

Process Overview:

• Time Frame - Process currently takes about 3-4 months from the time you accept your referral.
• Travel - Only one trip of 10 days to 2 weeks is required – only one parent must travel to pick up the child.
• Referrals - as young as 3-4 months old to teens.  Photos and medical information given at referral – continuing medical throughout process

• Staff in Country - English speaking interpreters will be with you during the entire time you are in country

• Adoptive Parents Requirements  - Vietnam program is open to the married couples  or singles.    According to the Vietnamese Law, adoptive parents must be at least 20 years older than the children they wish to adopt.
